Just when you thought it couldn't get any lower. Maybe in light winds, inland, it might be a fair figure, but otherwise: go forth bandits and plunder the prizes!
Worryingly however, the Laser 3000 has slipped from the main PY list to the "Experimental Numbers" list, meaning that the RYA did not receive enough PY returns in 2015 to give a fully confident figure (explains the 1074!). More worrying, is that unless the situation improves the L3k might drop off the list altogether, making life difficult for all those who go handicap racing in them.
Accordingly, please seek out your club's sailing secretary and check that they are making annual PY returns to the RYA; it is quite surprising how many clubs do not make returns, even large, prestigious ones. Against that, some clubs are now making returns by uploading their Sailwave results to www.pyonline.org.uk/ on a weekly basis; maybe this is the way to go for your club - it certainly makes life easier around September/October time!
