The Jib on my 3K is in desperate need of replacement, but am wondering which way to go with this? I have an original hyde laminate main and the original hyde jib, but when upgrading, is it worth considering the new North Sail Jib? I understand this is cut slightly differently though, so is there a chance this would effect the boat handling? Long term, ideally ill get the North Main too, but funds wont quite stretch this far at present...

I'd recommend the North Dacron jib. A little smaller than the battened Mylar version, but you can furl it and imho it is nicer to use.

North jibs are longer in the foot and luff, so need to be tacked down through the (forestay) hole in the bow. You may well need more aft rake on the mast too. More here:
