This years 3000 Nationals will be held on 17-18th October, at Rutland Sailing Club, Rutland Water, kindly sponsored by Noble Marine (who also give discounts on boat insurance to CA members). This club has great facilities and is centrally located.

You will need to be a class association member to enter, but entry will then be free.

More details of the event to follow..

Sedbergh hope to be there with 2 3000s
Spotted a 3000 out racing at West lancs last weekend and shouted at them to come and join us at Rutland - I think I distracted them from their racing!

I'm still planning to be there. Big lake sailing - like an estuary without the tides. I shall probably need a crew tho, as my Javelin crew is 100kg and I'm now down to 73kg!

We intend to be there in our ancient Laser 3079, and I am also working on another SCSC member who has acquired a 3000 this year.

Plans are afoot for 3603 to make a return to the nationals, sailed by a pair of dark horses

I see that Rutland SC has a page referring to this event:

We should perhaps point out that it will be possible to join the Class Association at Rutland to claim free entry. Probably be good to post your intention here, so that we know who we are expecting to meet.

I shall have to attend whatever the weather now - as I've booked a hotel (Redwings Lodge 2 miles from Edith Weston = very cheap). Rutland does have camping but it's notoriously wet and muddy - and isn't included in the entry fee either I don't think.

All I need now is a crew in order to be legal ... up for it Myles? Or do you have a better offer?
