Anyone going? Joe Pester and Murph dominated the event in a 3000 last year...... how about you this year?

Sedbergh School will be going... (and to Carsington and Grafham)_ - looking forward to the 2013 events

I went to the Bass SC website hoping for an explanation of GNAC - AC is easy Asymmetric Classes - but GN?

No explanation here: www.bassenthwaite-sc.org.uk/ai1ec_event/gnac/?instance_id=5819

Or am I missing something in my rush to go sailing (tho' why I'm rushing to go sailing in a wind chill 0f 0, I don't know).

Thanks Myles.

And I shouldn't have worried about the weather. Enough layers under a dry-suit and it was fine - even with a capsize (not cold at all, oddly). So the season is here again; hurrah!

Just received this from Bassenthwaite ..............

The Great North Asymmetric Challenge
Bassenthwaite SC - 27 / 28 April

‘There is a tide in the affairs of men Which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune
Omitted, all the voyage of their life Is bound in shallows and in miseries.’

In other words: Everything is ready to rock for this year’s running of GNAC – don’t miss it.
The format for the event will be much the same as in recent years – why change a winning formula?
• The event will be open to all asymmetric dinghies (and Laser Vortexes).
• There will be 8 scheduled races.
• The courses will all be dedicated windward/leeward courses.
• The entry fee will be: £35 double handers £25 single handers
• Prizes will include £25 Pinnel and Bax vouchers for the winning helm and crew of both double and single handers.
• There will be fleet prizes for any class with more than 6 boats.
• The entry fee will include:
A Mexican meal for all competitors on Saturday evening
Live music on Saturday evening
Onsite camping on Friday and Saturday evenings.
• Additional meals for non competitors will be available.
• The galley will also be serving breakfasts and lunches etc.
As ever, GNAC will be an event which no asymmetric sailor should miss!
Look forward to seeing you all there,
Roy
